Volunteers of America, Colorado City (VOAC) supports diverse populations including older adults, preschoolers, veterans and survivors of domestic violence. The Building Maintenance Technician II maintains and repairs all VOAC facilities to ensure safety, health and regulatory compliance.
Summary
The Building Maintenance Technician II is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all Volunteers of America facilities that fall within the Building Services Program. They ensure buildings, equipment and grounds are safe and in good repair at all times, may supervise volunteers and contractors, monitor safety and health requirements, and follow OSHA, federal, state and EPA regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform maintenance and repairs on affordable housing facilities equipment and grounds requiring knowledge of appliances, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, landscaping and janitorial work.
Identify and address safety‑related issues that present possible hazards to clients, employees, facilities or the public.
Assist in monitoring apartment make‑ready schedules to ensure timely rent‑ready units.
Assist in monitoring service requests ensuring 24‑hour completion.
Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and bi‑annual preventive maintenance.
Ensure facilities are maintained in a safe, clean and orderly manner that complies with agency standards.
Attend meetings and staff development activities as assigned, utilizing a teamwork orientation.
Maintain proper work‑order procedures and related documentation according to Volunteers of America guidelines.
Maintain exceptional building and grounds curb appeal.
Provide after‑hours, weekend and holiday emergency coverage as scheduled.
Act as a mentor to Maintenance Technician I.
Inventory building supplies.
Maintain predictable, consistent attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
At least three years of direct experience in building maintenance or relevant experience.
Knowledge of all power tools and building maintenance equipment and their uses.
Valid Colorado driver’s license, insurance verification and a good driving record.
Must use personally owned basic hand tools.
