Job Description
General Statement
With limited supervision, from the Supervisor Custodial Services and the Custodian III provides a wide range of cleaning and custodial duties on college buildings. Performs specific routine custodian tasks as directed and assigned.

Typical Duties

Strips, applies and maintains floor finishes;

Removes spots and extracts carpets and upholstery;

Uses a variety of chemicals specific to project work in accordance with established training;

Carries out routine maintenance on custodial equipment;

Monitors and reports unsafe conditions or situations;

Arms/disarms building security systems;

Performs other related duties similar in scope and complexity.

Qualifications
Grade 10 or equivalent plus BSW 1 course related to institutional or industrial custodial skills, together with one year related experience or equivalent. Some knowledge of machines and equipment associated with custodial service is required. Must have good communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to relate well with other college staff and public.
