Responsibilities
Designs and develops high‑speed analog products for electro‑optics, laser electronics, and other applications using computer‑assisted engineering, design software, and customer guidelines.
Supports existing product lines with required modifications.
Updates products as needed by manufacturing, testing, and quality control departments.
Manages assigned projects to guarantee compliance with required specifications within the project schedule.
Ensures that budgets of time and raw materials are not exceeded.
Provides support in the development of project and product specifications and schedules.
Designs and develops electronic assemblies with the aid of hand tools, soldering iron, and computer design software.
Writes documentation and creates schematics for products; provides documentation to drafting and assists in drawing creation and review as required.
Responsible for design verification testing and acceptance of all assigned project prototypes and first articles.
Performs required testing and/or supervises assigned technicians and prototype assemblers in testing and fabrication of product.
Discusses proposed changes in design with manufacturing and quality control departments to improve manufacturing procedures.
Develops acceptance test procedures, design development plans and budgets/schedules, test plans, and design verification tests (DVT) and reports for assigned products and projects.
Reviews test results and documentation prior to shipment.
Reviews customer returns and repairs for assigned products.
Applies advanced mathematical concepts and operations with logical or scientific thinking to solve a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
Provides insights to other engineering personnel regarding non‑assigned projects.
Assists technical sales personnel with project costs by estimating time and raw materials needed on a per‑job basis.
Troubleshoots with customers to resolve technical questions and ensure all customer specifications have been met.
Identifies and prepares requisitions, materials, tools, and test equipment for specific jobs.
Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum of six (6) years RF Engineering experience required; MSEE preferred.
Proficient in electronics engineering design, testing, and documentation.
Strong understanding of analog and RF electronics design; proficiency in higher‑frequency techniques including network analysis and simulation is desired.
Low‑noise analog design and testing experience is required.
Background and design expertise in electro‑optic receivers and ultra‑fast laser drivers is desired.
Knowledge of circuit board electrical layout techniques and EMI effects are essential.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, successfully setting priorities to accomplish goals.
Basic computer skills are essential.
A wide degree of creativity and latitude is necessary.
Analog Modules, Inc. is located in Longwood, Florida, and the job must be performed on‑site. Relocation assistance may be offered.
