The practice is centered primarily on family law, handling matters such as divorce, child custody, adoption, and related proceedings, while also maintaining a smaller estate planning component. Responsibilities
Manage family law matters involving divorce, custody, child support, adoption, and related issues
Prepare pleadings, motions, agreements, discovery responses, and other legal documents
Appear in hearings, mediations, and court proceedings based on experience level
Assist with negotiations, litigation strategy, and trial preparation
Support occasional estate planning matters such as wills, powers of attorney, and related documents
Maintain professional, compassionate communication with clients throughout their matters
Work closely with paralegals and staff to keep files moving efficiently
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school
Licensed to practice law or pending bar admission in New York
Family law experience through internships, clinics, clerkships, or prior employment strongly preferred
Candidates with related legal experience and a demonstrated interest in family law will also be considered
Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills
Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and contribute as part of a team
