Pride Health is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist to support our client’s medical facility in Bangor, ME 04401. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a leading healthcare organization on a night shift travel contract.
Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist
Location: Bangor, ME 04401
Shift: Night Shift | 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM
Pay Rate: $2,377/week
Key Responsibilities:
Perform specimen handling, processing, and laboratory test analysis accurately
Review, verify, and release patient test results
Maintain testing records, QC logs, calibrations, and maintenance documentation
Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and laboratory safety guidelines
Perform quality control procedures and ensure compliance standards are met
Identify testing issues, troubleshoot problems, and escalate when needed
Report STAT and critical results per department procedures
Maintain inventory by monitoring reagent/test kit dates and expiration dates
Keep department organized and maintain professional work area standards
Participate in training, meetings, inspections, and other assigned duties
Required Qualifications:
BS in Medical Technology preferred, or BS/BA in Chemistry/Biology, or
Associate degree in Laboratory Science/Medical Technology
Eligible for or holding national certification such as ASCP or AMT
Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience in high complexity testing preferred
Strong understanding of laboratory testing, QC, and QA processes
Experience working with multiple computer systems and lab software
Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple procedures simultaneously
Strong communication and customer service skills
Must maintain patient confidentiality at all times
Experience with Roche Cobas 8100 Chemistry, IL GEM Blood Gases, and Osmo preferred.
