Job Overview
AWS Infrastructure Services owns design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. You will join a diverse team of engineers and support staff to ensure the stability and sustainability of our next‑generation networks. The role focuses on scaling support for several data center locations and assisting with day‑to‑day capacity management.
Key Responsibilities
Scale support of data center locations and assist with capacity management.
Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects.
Collaborate with stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
Troubleshoot networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords.
Specify power and cooling requirements and ensure hardware racking/stacking is completed for new equipment.
Participate in migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.
Physical Requirements
Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds.
Work in an environment that operates 24/7 with ability to provide after‑hours support as needed.
Work in cramped and/or elevated and/or noisy environments.
Bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day.
Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation.
Basic Qualifications
1+ year of computer networking experience.
1+ year of Linux operating systems experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
Experience with computer networking and Linux operating systems.
Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.
Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
Preferred Qualifications
Can work in cramped or elevated spaces while adhering to health & safety guidelines.
Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).
Travel Requirements
Traveling within and outside of the regional work area is required. Candidates must have a reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
