On-Campus employment opportunities at Columbia Basin College (CBC) are available. Students who believe the experience can be a valuable part of their education are encouraged to apply, with some positions requiring student work study funding for eligibility. This announcement will be used to develop a pool of applicants for tutor student employment positions for the quarter.

Pay Rate: $17.13 - $17.13 per hour.

Primary Responsibilities

Provide tutoring to CBC students.

Offer assistance with developing study strategies.

Work with students to develop a tutoring plan that fits their individual needs.

Prepare tutoring sessions to ensure academic development.

Assess progress throughout the tutoring sessions.

Participate in tutor training and development sessions.

Other appropriate duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Currently enrolled at Columbia Basin College:

For Non-Work Study: enrolled in at least one (1) credit.

For Work Study: enrolled in at least six (6) degree‑required credits, five (5) degree‑required credits for Summer.

Have successfully completed the course for which tutoring services are being provided or a higher course in that area with a grade of A or B.

Demonstrate knowledge and competence in the subject matter.

Good communication, computer, and customer service skills.

Familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Access).

Be available morning, afternoons, evenings and some weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual/biliterate in Spanish and English.
