
Physician Compensation Analyst

Overview
The Physician Compensation Analyst provides compensation support and analysis for the Director of Physician Compensation, Manager of Physician Compensation, Medical Group, market, service line, and other leaders, Provider recruiting and the Office of physician and APP professional affairs.
Responsibilities
Collaborates to deliver Market Survey Analysis and works with Compensation Market Data; participates in approximately 8 salary surveys and analyzes survey data; coordinates survey results within the database; performs weighting and aging of data; ensures data integrity and best coverage of survey sources for a diverse provider population; compiles and analyzes survey data and acts as internal staff consultant on provider survey data; researches, analyzes and provides market data on positions as requested by management.
Performs ad-hoc data analysis and modeling; extracts and compiles data from multiple sources; models projections for new compensation structures and assesses financial and individual impacts; formats analysis for ease of use and creates dynamic analyses to address changing needs.
Performs Fair Market Value (FMV) analysis of physician compensation; helps ensure compliance with federal Stark, Anti-Kickback, and other laws and regulations related to physician compensation; conducts tests on compensation using established benchmarks; supports the annual review process for physician compensation compliance; provides analytical support to the Office of Physician and APP professional affairs.
Reviews physician contracts for compensation compliance; coordinates with Market and Service Line operations to ensure appropriate compensation is included in contracts; collaborates with Physician Contracting to craft clear compensation language.
Supports provider payroll team and serves as a resource to physician and APP payroll teams for questions on standard compensation models; reviews calculations and spreadsheets for accuracy and completeness; prepares payroll system uploads.
Develops compensation guidelines and maintains rate structures to ensure rate sheets are updated with current information; participates in the review and update process for compensation guidelines.
Participates in, and may lead, the Annual Rate Update and Financial Plan; uses market data to assist the annual review of physician compensation rates and to forecast compensation inflation for Medical Group financial planning; prepares the annual rate update proposal.
Responsible for audits and compliance; performs audits on compensation as needed and ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Initiates and performs special projects using analytical skills and compensation expertise to assist in the development, installation and administration of compensation programs; performs other duties as assigned by the Finance Director - Physician Compensation and/or Physician Compensation Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
Prior experience in data manipulation, highly detail-oriented and strong organizational skills.
Superior computer skills including working knowledge of worksheets, word processing, and data management required.
Creativity, ingenuity, and strong problem-solving skills.
Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in HR, Accounting, Analytics, or a business-related field. Education must be obtained through an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.
Experience as a compensation analyst.
Prior compensation experience in a health care setting.
Understanding of health care jobs and functions.
Experience with Incentive pay administration.
Experience in physician compensation.
Facilitation and presentation skills.
Experience with SQL
