Overview
It is the responsibility of the busser to maintain the restaurant and bar area organized, sanitized and prepared for the guest. This position must also exhibit a high level of professional and personalized guest service that embodies the Company’s brand standard and core values (K.E.E.P. – Kindness, Engagement, Empathy and Positivity).

Responsibilities

Provide friendly service with smiles, professional verbiage, escorting guests, allowing guests the right of way, pulling out chairs for guests, acknowledging special events and engaging in other friendly mannerisms to provide superior service to the guest.

Carry heavy trays efficiently and securely.

Clear and sanitize tables in a timely manner according to current Chart House standards.

Be knowledgeable of food and beverage menus and plate specifications to ensure proper quality, presentation, and accurate salesmanship of featured items.

Assist in maintaining guests’ table tops, set with silverware rolls, chairs, and tables in their appropriate places.

Assist guests with any requests during their dining experience.

Be knowledgeable of the Chart House Pivot Point system to ensure adherence to the #1 and #2 priority, “hot food” and “cold drinks,” 360, room buddies, and all other aspects of the system.

Continuously engage in teamwork by offering help to fellow employees and managers to ensure the finest possible service is given to guests.

Follow direction efficiently and positively.

Be courteous, respectful, positive, and professional at all times.

Adhere to all applicable policies, procedures, health, and alcohol laws.

Assist in maintaining the restaurant organized, sanitized and stocked to PAR guidelines, including stocking ice for service stations and keeping floors and guest paths debris‑free.

Be a positive and lasting impression for guests by engaging them in conversation, welcoming them, and inviting them back.

Ensure the restaurant is stocked with rolled silverware as necessary.

Maintain uniform and appearance according to established guidelines.

Communicate with Management about guest satisfaction, supply needs, or other areas requiring attention.

Return all lost and found items to the Manager.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Minimum age requirement is 18 years old.

Minimum one‑year experience in a high-volume, fast‑paced restaurant.

Health card is required.

Must have great people skills, a clean and well-groomed appearance, and be respectful of everyone.

Must be capable of carrying heavy trays and bus‑tubs efficiently and securely.

Thorough knowledge of proper service and etiquette.

Must read, write, speak, and understand English.

High School Diploma or related degree preferred.

One‑year of experience.

Must possess basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) relevant to position responsibilities.

Ability to read and understand all policies and procedures.

Effective communication with guests, employees, and management in English, specific to role duties.

Ability to complete standard forms and reports.
