Overview Business Development Manager (Remote, but must reside in Florida) at Teaching Strategies, LLC. Position overview: As defined by geographical sales territory, the BDM is responsible for selling Teaching Strategies\' full line of solutions to the early childhood public markets in support of defined revenue goals. The BDM identifies and coordinates sales opportunities within assigned accounts with support from internal departments and staff, building on an existing foundation of success and increasing market share through a collaborative, consultative approach. This position has no direct reports.
Responsibilities Must reside in Florida, preferably North Central Florida, as the territory is Central Florida through the Panhandle
Develops territory plan designed to build a diversified and meaningful pipeline to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals
Achieves monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals for the assigned territory
Builds, maintains, and develops knowledge to become an expert on Teaching Strategies\' solutions and the competitive landscape for early childhood development
Owns the full cycle of the sales process, balancing time with prospecting, planning, presenting, negotiating, and closing
Accurately manages the sales pipeline in Salesforce.com and provides opportunities with product, dollar amount, and estimated close dates
Utilizes Salesforce.com to track all sales activity and customer/prospect correspondence for the territory
Provides monthly forecast and sales projections to the Sales Team Director
Maintains relationships with customers and channels, collecting feedback as appropriate
Hosts online demonstrations and presentations as well as face-to-face meetings
Communicates regularly with major clients within the territory; follows up promptly on inquiries and opportunities
Represents Teaching Strategies at exhibits, conferences, and events within the territory
Supports development of long-term customer partnerships and cross-functional initiatives in support of sales and company priorities
Qualifications Must reside in Florida, preferably North Central Florida, as the territory is Central Florida through the Panhandle
6-8 years of sales experience, specifically in early childhood education or K-12, with programs in Florida
Track record of success selling digital, print, assessment, and professional development education solutions
Mastery of successful selling skills and techniques
Experience performing market analysis and building/managing a diverse and balanced sales pipeline
Knowledge of educational structures and ability to sell to multiple decision makers at multiple levels
Experience with Salesforce or another CRM solution is highly desired
Understanding of funding sources customers can use to purchase product, staff development, and assessment
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships at the executive level
Ability to travel up to 50% with seasonal variations
Prior experience in the education field (e.g., classroom teacher) is a plus
