Overview
Associate Manufacturing - Days at Amgen. This role supports the production process by operating equipment, maintaining production records, and adhering to safety and quality standards. The position involves a 2-6 week onboarding period on an administrative schedule (Monday through Friday, ~8am–5pm). After onboarding, the role transitions to a 12-hour shift with a rotating pattern (7am–7pm, B shift) and a two-week rotation covering 7 days per week. The rotating schedule includes an average of 14 days on shift per month with every other weekend off. Sundays worked may receive premium pay.
What you will do
Operate manufacturing equipment in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Maintain production records and contribute to process documentation.
Perform and monitor critical processes and assist in routine validation protocols.
Draft and revise documents such as Manufacturing Procedures, SOPs, and technical reports.
Perform basic troubleshooting and assist in documentation review for assigned functions.
Participate on cross-functional teams and represent the manufacturing team as needed.
Possibly own deviations and corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
Identify, recommend, and implement improvements related to routine functions.
Responsibilities Include
Operate and support manufacturing operations under general supervision.
Ensure compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements; apply knowledge of CGMP in daily work.
Minimum Education Required
High School/GED

Associate’s degree + 6 months of manufacturing or operations experience OR
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering
Knowledge of large-scale biotechnology operations (e.g., purification, cell culture, aseptic processing)
Knowledge of Single-use-Systems
CFR and regulatory knowledge
Mechanical ability/expertise
Basic statistical and mathematical skills
Ability to interpret and apply GMP knowledge
Understanding of analytical methods for manufacturing
Demonstrated technical writing capability
Project management and presentation skills
Ability to understand and apply basic chemistry, biology, and physical principles
Basic troubleshooting skills on production equipment
Experience with DeltaV and lab equipment/testing
