ChristianaCare’s Newark Hospital Imaging Department is currently recruiting for a WIP (Weekend Incentive Position) CT Technologist for day/evening shift; 3 out of 4 weekends and every 3rd holiday requirement.
Primary Function
Perform all phases of CT scan testing on hospital in‑patients and outpatients following established procedures and protocols under the direction of the radiologist.
Perform other diagnostic imaging exams as skills permit.
Perform clerical and scheduling duties as needed.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Demonstrate complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of CT scanner units.
Complete all technical assigned imaging and non‑imaging procedures within the designated scheduled times.
Verify insurance pre‑authorization as defined by departmental protocols before scanning patients.
Assist in the learning process of students and new staff in department procedures, quality control, and radiation safety.
Administer all contrast media under physician’s supervision.
Assess patients for adverse reactions and/or changes in patient status.
Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in the use of contrast media injectors.
Perform i‑STAT testing and accurate calculation of GFR following established departmental policies and procedures.
Provide care appropriate to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including knowledge of growth and development.
Perform assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices.
Requirements
Completion of ARRT registry; ARRT registry in CT scan required.
Licensed by the State of Delaware in Radiation Protection.
Associate degree in Radiologic Technology preferred.
Completion of the CT registry exam is a job requirement. Technologists who are recruited and non‑certified will have a period of 2 years following hire to pass this exam.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
Compensation
Position pays $43.00 to $48.00 per hour. This rate is an estimate; final compensation depends on qualifications and experience.
Sign‑On Bonus
Eligible candidates may receive a $7,500 sign‑on bonus.
