
Roadway Design Engineer
CONSOR Engineers, Dallas, TX, United States
As a Roadway Design Engineer, you'll apply engineering principles and technical expertise to the design and analysis of transportation projects under the guidance of senior engineers. You’ll contribute to roadway and multimodal design development, ensure compliance with design standards, and begin taking ownership of assigned tasks while advancing your professional judgment and project experience.
What You'll Do:
Prepare and review design plans, calculations, and technical reports for roadway and multimodal projects.
Apply engineering standards and codes to ensure accuracy and compliance in design work.
Support coordination with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and reviewing agencies.
Perform design analyses, cost estimates, and quantity takeoffs for assigned project components.
Assist in quality assurance reviews and respond to design review comments or field questions.
What You'll Need:
Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering.
7–10+ years of transportation engineering experience with TxDOT projects.
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Proficiency in Microstation ORD, AutoCad, and Civil3D software.
Proposal writing/marketing experience is a plus.
Hybrid work; on‑site travel and occasional exposure to inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazards, and bodies of water may be required.
Ability to perform frequent sitting, moving, standing, talking, hearing, and occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling. Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lb may be required.
