Key Job Responsibilities
Diagnose and resolve issues with marine engines using specialized tools and equipment, with a strong familiarity with Mercury diagnostic tools and procedures.
Perform repairs, routine maintenance tasks, and conduct thorough inspections on both mechanical and electrical components of outboard motors.
Supervise a team of technicians by assigning tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring high-quality work.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used.
Ensure service reports are up-to-date and provide necessary documentation to management or customers.
Engage with customers to understand their concerns, provide excellent service, address inquiries, explain repair processes, and offer recommendations for optimal performance.
Ensure the team adheres to all relevant safety guidelines, including proper handling of tools and equipment and compliance with environmental regulations.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in the marine industry, attend training sessions, and pursue additional certifications to enhance skills and expertise.
Desired Candidate Profile
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Technical training or certification in marine mechanics/electronics or a related field is preferred.
6-8 years proven work experience in similar roles.
In-depth understanding of engines, fuel systems, electrical systems, cooling systems, and propulsion systems.
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines efficiently.
Attention to detail.
