The Role
The Auto Shop Mechanic will perform new equipment assembly, commissioning, repairs, and preventative maintenance in the Auto Shop. The position will repair and maintain all company-run equipment including, but not limited to, top picks, side picks, tractors, generators, forklifts, trucks, vans, autos, golf carts, NOW Systems, and GPS Tracking Systems. Will also provide Auto Shop services in support of CY/CFS and CVS operations at all Matson piers.

What you’ll do

Perform troubleshooting of all aforementioned company equipment.

Perform light repairs to heavy equipment overhauls, including but not limited to engines (i.e., diesel and gasoline), transmissions, air conditioning, brakes (i.e., air, ABS, etc.), electrical, electronics, fuel, ignition, hydraulic, and GPS systems.

Perform preventative maintenance, evaluates equipment, and execute repairs.

Test and inspect completed work to assure proper equipment performance, quality, and compliance with all safety and DOT regulations.

Perform body repair, touch-up paint and related work.

Perform other duties as needed or directed.

Qualifications

Five (5) to ten (10) years of diesel heavy equipment experience.

EPA certification to handle refrigerant.

Must be flexible to work shift workdays, nights, weekends, and holidays. Able to work overtime as needed.

Must have, or be able to obtain, a TWIC card.

Extra credit if you have

Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Must be able to stand and sit.

Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
