Senior Mechanical Engineer
We’re hiring for a Senior Mechanical Engineer who will work 9/80 weeks, with an off day every other Friday. The position is based in Hauppauge, NY, in a collaborative, client‑focused, hands‑on team environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

Design and develop mechanical systems, assemblies, machined components, and injection‑molded parts using SolidWorks.

Create detailed 3D models and fully dimensioned 2D drawings ready for manufacturing and assembly.

Perform structural and thermal analysis using ANSYS or similar FEA tools to validate and optimize designs.

Apply strong machine design principles to deliver robust, reliable, and cost‑effective solutions.

Lead and participate in design reviews, incorporating feedback to improve performance, manufacturability, and quality.

Collaborate closely with manufacturing, electrical, and controls engineers to ensure seamless system integration.

Support new product development from early concept through prototyping and production release.

Assist with prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, and mechanical issue resolution during validation.

Ensure designs comply with engineering standards, best practices, and internal procedures.

Maintain clear, accurate documentation, including models, drawings, specifications, and analysis reports.

Work directly with multiple external clients, understanding requirements and translating them into practical designs.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal design processes, tools, and methodologies.

Essential Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.

7+ years of mechanical design experience, ideally in machinery or industrial equipment.

Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modeling and production‑ready drawings).

Hands‑on experience with ANSYS or similar FEA tools for structural and thermal analysis.

Strong foundation in machine design principles and best practices.

Deep understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and DFM/DFA.

Proficiency in GD&T and applying it effectively to drawings.

Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail.

Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate cross‑functionally.

Ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Bonus Skills That Make You Stand Out

Experience with injection mold design for plastic components.

Background in new product development from concept through production launch.

Experience working in an engineering services or consulting environment.

Comfort interacting with multiple clients and adapting to varied technical needs.

Strong documentation habits and familiarity with engineering standards.

A collaborative mindset and appreciation for a team culture that balances high performance with humor and camaraderie.

Contract position based out of Hauppauge, NY.

Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
