Sr. Civil Engineer
– DEPCOM Power / Koch Engineered Solutions
DEPCOM Power is a prominent engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) firm in the renewable energy industry. We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to support large‑scale solar, battery, and broader energy projects.
What You Will Do
Develop large‑scale project civil and site preparation designs.
Monitor construction activities, including contractor adherence to design plans, field adjustments, RFIs, CORs, and onsite quality assurance for grading and site preparation.
Use engineering judgment to comply with EPC contract requirements while driving economic solutions that benefit both DEPCOM and the customer.
Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (Project, Structural, Electrical).
Self‑perform or use third‑party partners to complete grading and erosion control plans, construction specifications, SWPPP, hydrology reports, etc.
Conduct site visits for due diligence, evaluating grading, site preparation strategy, drainage conditions, and general site conditions.
Report status on tasks and civil deliverables to key internal customers (Project Engineering, Project Management, Construction).
Review grading and drainage plans, drainage studies, ALTA/topographic and other survey documents, and geotechnical reports to recommend design and identify schedule and cost constraints.
Organize and lead meetings related to civil engineering and site preparation with multiple stakeholders.
Address site challenges such as soil stabilization, foundation design, and erosion control on large‑scale developments.
Balance cost, schedule, and quality through value engineering and innovative approaches to civil design and construction.
Implement lessons learned and contribute to standardized workflows and process improvements across civil engineering operations.
Who You Are
BS degree in Civil Engineering.
Professional engineering license.
Experience designing and sealing civil designs as Engineer of Record.
Experience in land development over 50 acres.
Experience in large‑scale civil design and construction.
Experience with stormwater management in challenging terrain and/or jurisdictions.
Willing and able to travel 25% of the time to the field.
Preferred Experience
Permitting support experience.
Geotechnical engineering experience.
Hydrology experience.
Experience in PV Solar or BESS.
Compensation
Base salary range: $130,000 – $165,000 per year. Eligible for variable pay as a monetary bonus or other form.
