A locally owned engineering firm is currently seeking a highly talented, detail oriented, civil engineer with 5-10 years experience to join the civil/site department. The successful candidate will work on a wide variety of projects for both private and public clients. Typical projects involve civil/site design for residential, commercial, and industrial site development, as well as water distribution and wastewater collection projects.
Working in a team environment on multiple projects
Civil/site design development including grading, drainage, geometrics, and sewer infrastructure
Local Planning and zoning ordinances and permit application preparation
Public meetings process and presentations and professional client interactions
Preparing engineering reports (Site Selection reports, Drainage Impact Studies, Preliminary Engineering Reports, etc.)
Roadway geometric design
Hydrologic storm water calculations and modeling
Hydraulic design of storm sewers, culverts, drain inlets, ponds and reservoirs
Design / production of construction plans and permitting
Preparing preliminary and final quantity take-offs and cost estimates
Private and Public Bid / Award activities
Construction Phase activities including contract preparation, RFI reviews, submittal reviews, and conflict resolution
Project Closeout activities
Position Requirements
B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year university
Professional Engineer licensure in Louisiana or ability to obtain
5-10 years' experience in private or public civil design
CAD based civil design software experience necessary (AutoCAD Civil 3D or Microstation)
Windows 10 / Microsoft Office experience including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, PondPack, LADOTD HYDR, EPA SWMM software knowledge is a plus
