Job Description
We are seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to work at Whitesville Mill Services in Crawfordsville, IN. The role involves repair and maintenance of heavy‑duty off‑road construction equipment, with opportunities to progress to Lead Man or Maintenance Manager.
Pay
$25.00 per hour plus an additional hourly amount based on experience.
Shift/Schedule
Rotating schedule: 4 days on / 4 days off; working hours 6:00 AM–6:00 PM or 6:00 PM–6:00 AM.

Responsibilities
Comply with all safety regulations, policies, and record‑keeping
Dismantle and reassemble trucks, machines, and equipment to access problem areas
Maintain work area for safe movement and access
Visually inspect and listen to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions
Read schematics
Utilize diagnostic software to troubleshoot malfunctions
Weld, cut, and fabricate equipment and components
Meet customer service expectations
Skills
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Mechanical aptitude
Knowledge of off‑road heavy equipment
Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, braking systems, electrical systems, drivelines, steering mechanisms, and suspensions
Tier IV Emissions experience
Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, climb or crawl under or on top of equipment
Ability to manipulate components in hard‑to‑reach places with hands or tools
Good verbal and written communication skills
Valid Driver’s License
Willingness to perform other duties as assigned
