invites civil/structural engineers in the Portland, Oregon or Seattle, WA areas to join our forensic team. This is a work‑from‑home role with 30–40% field investigations, focusing on building system failures in residential, commercial, and industrial sites.
Responsibilities
Investigate the origin and cause of failures, damages, or defects in civil/structural fields.
Analyze building system failures, evaluate construction quality, and review design or maintenance procedures.
Perform field investigations, lead multi‑party examinations, and document damaged property.
Research failure modes and code requirements, preparing recommendations for repair or remediation.
Prepare reports and letters outlining damage origins for clients.
Manage and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on large, complex assignments.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering or related discipline required.
PE preferred; EIT may be considered.
5–7 years of design experience in residential, commercial, and industrial settings preferred.
Experience working in the field considered a benefit.
25–30%+ travel required.
Ability to work in inclement weather, various environmental conditions, and high areas (roofs, scaffolding).
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing on strict timelines.
Compensation and Benefits
Pay range in Washington State: $130,000–$150,000 annually, with base pay varying by experience. A quarterly bonus based on revenue and productivity is offered. A sign‑on bonus may be provided, along with a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
