Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Printing Technology, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

5–10+ years of experience supporting wide web flexographic and/or gravure engraving printing environments

Demonstrated expertise with water-based and solvent-based inks and coatings used in flexible packaging

Proven success in customer-facing technical roles, including managing complex technical accounts and projects independently

Strong understanding of:

Ink/substrate interactions

Pressroom operations and workflows

Drying systems and surface treatments

Hands‑on experience with color matching, print troubleshooting, and defect analysis

Prior experience in the ink, coatings, or specialty chemicals industry strongly preferred

Must be US Citizen or Authorized to Work in the United States

Responsibilities

Manage and lead technical support for wide web flexo and engraving customers, ensuring optimal use of water and solvent based product lines.

Conduct regular on-site visits to clients to understand their needs and provide technical support.

Oversee on‑site troubleshooting, ink optimization, and product performance evaluations.

Coordinate and lead press trials, product introductions, and technical audits at customer facilities.

Collaborate with R&D, sales, manufacturing, and regulatory teams to develop and implement strategic account plans and deliver tailored technical solutions that meet customer needs.

Develop and implement technical service strategies that support customer retention, growth, and innovation.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients in the printing inks and packaging industry.

Build strong relationships with key customer stakeholders, acting as the primary technical point of contact.

Provide guidance and mentorship to technical representatives or field service personnel, where applicable.

Maintain detailed technical documentation, service reports, and communication logs to support proactive issue resolution and continuous improvement.

Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, particularly regarding solvent handling, emissions, and product stewardship.

Requirements

Ability to travel up to 25% for customer site visits, plant support, and regional collaboration.

Capability to work in pressroom and manufacturing environments, including exposure to solvents, inks, and production equipment.

Strong cross-functional collaboration experience with Sales, R&D, Manufacturing, and Regulatory teams.

Experience leading press trials, product launches, and technical audits.

Working knowledge of safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance, including VOC standards and product stewardship.

Ability to manage multiple customer accounts, priorities, and technical initiatives simultaneously.

Proficiency in documenting technical findings, service reports, and continuous improvement initiatives.
