Job Overview:
The Receptionist maintains high standards on a daily basis as they pertain to customer service within the Reception department. They are responsible for maintaining patient information services at the lobby reception desk and other designated locations. The Receptionist demonstrates positive guest relations to all patients, staff and visitors.

High School diploma

Day Shift
Rotating weekend and holiday schedule
Full-Time, 40 Hours Per Week
Essential Functions:
Greets patients and visitors as soon as they approach the desk in a courteous manner
Offers assistance and provides accurate information and directions
Exhibits friendly and helpful behavior by anticipating and responding to the needs of patients and visitors
Exhibits proficiency in computer use
Ensures that visitors and callers receive accurate information.
Answers telephone calls promptly and appropriately
Adheres to department policy regarding transferring calls and disseminating patient information
Demonstrates telephone courtesy and positive guest relations skills
Has general knowledge of all department locations throughout the hospital
Demonstrates good communication and customer service skills as they relate to the patient population served i.e.: infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric
Has knowledge of Hospital Policy regarding courtesy parking
Has knowledge of patient privacy policy and procedures
Checks and assigns vendor passes
Checks employee ID badges
Monitors and reports suspicious activity to security
Assists in the training and supervision of volunteers assigned at the Info desk
Demonstrates sensitivity and tact in dealing with volunteers
Assists with any other functions which pertain to the Reception Services and Security department
