POSITION SUMMARY
The role of an Inspector involves meticulous inspection of forgings and tooling to ensure dimensional precision and identify surface defects. The employee will perform a range of duties, including measuring product dimensions, visually examining castings for imperfections, segregating defective parts, certifying measuring instruments, conducting process inspections, applying serialization, and employing various inspection tools and methods.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Measures product dimensions within specified tolerances.

Conducts visual examinations of castings to identify defects such as cracks and un‑fills.

Segregates defective parts for disposition under Material Review Board (MRB) processes.

Certifies all measuring instruments prior to inspection use.

Conducts process inspections within the machine shop.

Applies and verifies serialization utilizing Hilti Gas Powered stamping guns.

Conducts inspections using profile gauges and standard hand tools such as vernier calipers, height gauges, and stiff jaw calipers.

Proficient in reading, interpreting, and comprehending blueprints.

EDUCATION

High school diploma or GED.

Technical training or certification related to manufacturing operations is a plus.

EXPERIENCE

1‑3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

WORK CONDITIONS

While performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

Employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.

Employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Depth perception and overall good vision are very important to this job.

While performing the duties of this job, employee regularly works in high, precarious places.

Employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.

Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

HOURS
Candidate MUST be open to any shift. 1st shift 6am-2pm, 2nd shift 2pm-10pm, 3rd shift 10pm-6am.
