Full-Time Construction Inspector
– Antioch, California (also San Francisco & San Jose)
Your Impact
Read and interpret project plans and specifications
Monitor construction for compliance with project documents
Measure, calculate, and document quantities of installed materials in accordance with client policies and procedures
Inspect road and bridge construction (based on Caltrans Standards)
Review, inspect, and approve traffic control systems, including lane closures, per Caltrans requirements
Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma
Minimum of 5 years of relevant post‑education experience with prior construction inspection experience
Valid state driver’s license
Highly familiar with construction inspection principles, field inspection practices, processes, methods and techniques
Highly familiar with relevant construction codes, regulations, compliance practices and record‑keeping requirements
Sound interpersonal and communication skills to interact with technical and non‑technical audiences
Sound self‑leadership with attention to detail, accuracy, multi‑tasking, and prioritization in a dynamic environment
Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instruction and comply with company policies
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team to meet business objectives
Analytical mindset to exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions
Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, spreadsheets and tools
Ability to provide input and feedback to others in the field such as subcontractors and colleagues to complete tasks safely, efficiently, and accurately per specifications
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and adherence to WSP’s health, safety, drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Ability to work schedules conducive to project‑specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek
Occasional travel may be required depending on project‑specific requirements
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s Degree in a closely related discipline
Two years of education beyond the 12th grade in either engineering or surveying courses, including trigonometry, algebra, drafting, computer science, physics, chemistry or equivalent
Essential professional licensure/certification
ASBI Grouting Technician Certification (Grouting Inspector)

Compensation
Expected salary: $65/hr‑$85/hr, depending on experience level, location and other qualifications. Compensation may increase for work covered by California’s Prevailing Wage laws or other applicable wage and hour laws.
