Overview
Flint Hills Resources (FHR) at Koch Industries offers a comprehensive development experience for early‑career engineers. This program provides opportunities to work on diverse projects, gain hands‑on experience, and develop a broad understanding of the various engineering disciplines within Flint Hills Resources.

As a precursor to the rotational program, FHR is seeking a mechanical engineering co‑op with an anticipated Spring 2027 graduation date. This co‑op will work as a project manager for pipelines and terminals projects for 10–20 hours per week in Rosemount, MN. After successful completion of the co‑op, the student will be considered for a full‑time position in the rotational program upon graduation.

Rotational Engineering Program Overview

Rotations: Participants will go through three engineering rotations, typically lasting approximately nine months each, potentially in different locations and functional areas within FHR. Rotations may include assignments in Pipeline Engineering, Environmental, Commercial/Business Development, Integrity, Data Monitoring, Hydraulics, Reliability, and Project Management. This structure enables exposure to different aspects of the business and a well‑rounded skill set. After the rotations, participants continue in a permanent position to further develop their skills and build a career. Probable locations include FHR Terminal locations in the Midwest, Corpus Christi, TX, Dallas, TX, Port Arthur, TX, Wichita, KS, or St. Paul, MN. Relocation assistance will be provided for each rotation.

Project Work: During each rotation, engineers are assigned to specific projects that align with the unit’s goals and objectives. Tasks include designing, implementing, and optimizing engineering solutions while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to achieve operational excellence, improve efficiency, and drive continuous improvement.

Learning and Development: Participants have access to training sessions, workshops, and seminars to enhance technical and leadership skills.

Mentoring and Networking: Engineers will connect with experienced professionals, receive mentorship, and attend networking events across different functions and business units.

Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Employees are encouraged to identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and sustainability, and to propose and implement innovative ideas that drive operational excellence.

Specifics of the FHR Rotational Engineering Program may vary depending on the business unit, location, and individual interests and skills. The program aims to provide a comprehensive foundation in engineering and prepare candidates for future leadership roles within Flint Hills Resources.
