Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Metal Crane Operator to join our team in Phillipsburg, United States. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating and maintaining heavy crane equipment for metal handling and construction operations.
Pay Rate between $28.62 and $31.62 per hour
Responsibilities
Operate various types of cranes to lift, move, and place heavy metal materials and equipment
Perform daily equipment inspections and maintain crane operation logs
Calculate load weights and ensure they are within the crane's operational limits
Read and interpret technical drawings and lift plans
Communicate effectively with ground crew and other construction team members
Follow all safety protocols and OSHA regulations
Monitor weather conditions that may impact crane operations
Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns
Assist in developing lift plans for complex operations
Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Rates are in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid NCCCO certification
Current OSHA safety certification
Valid driver's license
3-5 years of experience operating heavy cranes in construction or industrial settings
Demonstrated knowledge of crane safety protocols and load calculations
Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings and lift plans
Strong understanding of construction safety regulations and metal handling procedures
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Physical ability to climb, lift, and perform required maintenance tasks
Detail-oriented approach to equipment operation and safety proceduresAbility to work in various weather conditions
Willingness to travel to different construction sites as needed
