Shift 1 – Thursday to Sunday 8:00 am to 8:00 pm

Sunday is a scheduled plant shutdown for maintenance, housekeeping, and training.

Pay
Starting pay $19.75/hr

Summary
The feather Process operator controls the cooking process from hydrolyzing the raw feathers to a finished product. Operates straight or articulated rubber‑tired tractor‑type vehicle equipped with a front‑mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop to lift and transport bulk materials between storage areas and processing equipment. The following duties are performed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Hydrolyze raw feathers.

Dry the raw feathers.

Sizing of processed material.

Run machinery that processes cooked feathers into feather meal.

Transfer hydrolyzed feather meal to storage.

Start engine, shift gears, operate pedals, and steer loader.

Lower and tilt bucket to load bulk material.

Raise and tilt bucket to dump material.

Perform routine maintenance on loader (lubricate, fuel, clean).

Fill feeder cookers and tighten domes to ensure proper cooking.

Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Must have 3 months of work history with one employer within the last 2 years.

State Driver License required to obtain an industrial truck license (PIT).

Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job.

Physical Demands
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs. Must be able to walk, handle, climb, balance, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and tolerate wet, humid, and potentially hazardous environmental conditions.

Work Environment
The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, wet conditions, fumes, vibration, and occasional toxic chemicals. Noise levels are usually very loud.

Safety
Keep work area clean and free of clutter. Use appropriate PPE and correct tools for each task. Report injuries or hazards immediately and document them. Inspect all tools and materials for defects. Follow all safety rules and guidelines.

Benefits

Sign‑on bonus of $3,000: $500 at 30 days, $1,000 at 90 days, $1,500 at 6 months.
