Equipment Operator II / CDL
City of Edinburg, TX is seeking an experienced Equipment Operator II / CDL to operate light to heavy construction equipment for maintenance and industrial projects.
Competitive pay: $18.95 per hour.

Day in the Life
Operate a variety of machinery including rollers, graders, backhoes, front‑end loaders, forklifts, dump trucks, and bulldozers. Coordinate maintenance and operation of city equipment with minimal supervision. Perform daily inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs. Assist other divisions as needed. Respond to emergencies such as floods, tornadoes, and hazardous material spills.
Responsibilities
Operate light, medium, and heavy equipment with minimal supervision.
Maintain and repair city equipment.
Complete daily reports and inventory control.
Follow city policies and procedures.
Assist residents with trash and debris collection services.
Respond to emergency situations.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years experience with light, medium, or heavy equipment.
Current and valid Class B commercial driver's license (CDL) with air brake endorsement.
Pass a pre‑employment drug test.
Excellent driving record and insurability by city insurance.
Solid waste management certification or at least 2 years verifiable heavy equipment operations.
Hazardous materials endorsement preferred.
Utilities Department applicants must have tank endorsement, Class D Water Distribution License within 1 year, and Class C within 3 years.
