is strongly preferred for this role. While residential and commercial electrical experience can provide a foundation, it does not fully translate to the demands of this position. We are seeking electricians with proven industrial experience-specifically in troubleshooting, large conduit and wire pulls, motor controls, 480V systems, transformers and working within industrial environments who can contribute effectively from day one.

ABOUT THIS ROLE
As an Industrial Journeyman Electrician, you'll lead electrical work on industrial job sites: managing installations, directing crew members, upholding code and safety standards, and representing the Serve Electric standard on every project. This is a field position. If you thrive in different industrial environments and bring the technical depth to hit the ground running on day one, this is built for you.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Directing and managing electrical work on industrial job sites

Inspecting installations to ensure quality and code compliance

Upholding and enforcing job site safety standards

Troubleshooting complex electrical issues from start to finish, often without schematics or full operator information

Reading and interpreting blueprints, rough sketches, plans, drawings, and specifications

Wiring 120V, 480V, and low voltage systems

Working with lighting, transformers, motor controls, and switchboards

Measuring, threading, bending, and running EMT and rigid conduit (1/2\" - 4\")

Sizing feeders and understanding tooling requirements for each job

Mentoring and training apprentices and newer electricians

Communicating clearly with customers, the service manager, and the team

Organizing and planning projects of varying scale

Attending job site meetings and contributing to project coordination

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING

Active State of Michigan Journeyman or Master Electrician license

Demonstrated industrial electrical experience- not just listed as a skill, but hands-on, verifiable experience in industrial environments

Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues from start to finish without reliance on schematics or complete customer information

Proficient with 120V, 480V, and low voltage systems

Knowledgeable in motor controls, transformers, lighting, and switchboards

Experience with feeder sizing requirements

Ability to measure, thread, bend, and run EMT and rigid conduit up to 4\"

Strong working knowledge of NEC code

Ability to interpret blueprints, plans, drawings, and rough sketches

Comfortable working with minimal supervision and managing priorities across multiple tasks

Capable of training and mentoring less experienced electricians

Proficient in relevant computer applications (Microsoft Office, Outlook, ERP systems)

Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Valid driver's license

Nice to have:

Experience running projects independently, large or small

NFPA 70E / electrical safety compliance familiarity

Prior experience working for an industrial electrical contractor
