About The Role
The Electrician is a highly skilled field role responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems in commercial and industrial environments. This position is designed for individuals with significant hands‑on experience (8,000+ hours) who are capable of working independently, leading small crews, and supporting project execution, but who may not yet hold a Journeyman license.
What You’ll Do
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, controls, and equipment connections
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications to execute work accurately
Work independently to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision
Lead and direct apprentices and less experienced electricians on job tasks
Ensure all work meets NEC code requirements and company quality standards
Assist Foremen and Project Leaders with layout, planning, and material needs
Identify and communicate jobsite issues, risks, or inefficiencies proactively
Support commissioning, startup, and testing of electrical systems
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in alignment with company safety policies
Accurately track time, materials, and job progress as required
Qualifications
Required Skills, Experience, and Education
Minimum of 8,000 hours of electrical experience in commercial and/or industrial environments
Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned work
Demonstrated ability to lead or mentor apprentices in the field
Experience with electrical installation, service work, or both
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
Reliable transportation and ability to travel to job sites as needed
Preferred Skills And Abilities
Journeyman Electrician license (or actively working toward it)
Experience in industrial environments or complex commercial projects
Exposure to controls, automation, or specialty systems
