Field Survey Technician – Puget Sound Region
Our Field Survey Technician will work as a member of a survey crew performing boundary, topography, ALTA, right‑of‑way, and construction surveys for public and private clients. The selected individual will also operate and maintain survey equipment, take field notes, collect data, perform calculations, and collaborate with DEA staff and clients on projects. Involvement in the office will include reducing survey data, performing calculations, and copying and filing data.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and perform boundary, topography, ALTA, right‑of‑way, and construction surveys
Operate and maintain survey equipment, including Trimble total stations, Trimble GPS equipment, and Leica electronic levels
Collect and process field data; perform complex survey computations using software such as Trimble Business Center and Leica
Maintain detailed and accurate field notes, data collection files, and computation sheets
Inspect and verify accuracy of deliverables before submission
Coordinate, lead, and mentor survey crew personnel
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required
0.5 year of field survey experience
Proven ability to work in a team environment
Strong work ethic and accountability
Clean driving record required (no more than 3 accidents and/or moving violations in the last 36 months, or 2 accidents and/or moving violations within the last 12 months)
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree
Trimble total station and GPS experience preferred
Proficiency with MS Word and Excel a plus
