Davenergy Solutions is currently seeking a
full-time Mechanical Engineer
to provide onsite Construction Facilities Management (CFM) support at the
Topeka VA Medical Center in Topeka, KS.
This role supports renovation, sustainment, and small construction projects within an active VA medical facility by providing technical engineering support and coordination services in support of Government requirements.
Requirements
Ability to perform full-time onsite Mechanical Engineering support at an occupied VA medical facility.
Working knowledge of federal construction processes and applicable VA standards and guidelines.
Experience supporting mechanical building systems including HVAC, plumbing, and related infrastructure.
Ability to review construction documents, contractor submittals, RFIs/RFCs, schedules, and proposed changes and provide technical recommendations to the Government COR.
Experience supporting site observations and identifying mechanical deficiencies, discrepancies, and non-conforming work.
Ability to support schedule, cost, quality, safety, and risk considerations related to mechanical systems.
Experience maintaining project documentation including inspection reports, meeting minutes, correspondence, RFIs, submittals, and closeout documentation.
Ability to participate in project meetings, site walks, and coordination with contractors, designers, and Government stakeholders.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with VA or federal construction management systems preferred.
Ability to work onsite 40 hours per week; occasional adjusted hours may be required to support project needs.
Relevant Experience
Experience providing mechanical engineering support for healthcare, VA, or federally funded construction projects.
Experience supporting renovation, sustainment, and small construction efforts.
Experience working within occupied medical facilities.
Prior VA, VISN, or other federal healthcare facility experience strongly preferred.
Education
A degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution of higher learning and/or demonstrated mechanical engineering experience in a construction or facilities environment.
Minimum of 4 years of mechanical engineering experience, or 2 years of healthcare or federal facilities experience.
