We have an immediate opening for a Simulation and Modeling (M&S) Systems Engineer to join our team. This position will provide an opportunity to develop the innovative technology that supports some of our nation’s most important defense initiatives. Kitty Hawk employees work closely with our customers to develop solutions that support national engineering and security missions, and the ideal candidate will support our team in providing program support to the Department of War (DoW). Key Responsibilities

Supports Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Modeling & Simulation tasking as a program office representative
Chairs M&S WG across multiple stakeholders to develop, implement, and deploy M&S capabilities to test and train MDA Capability Insertion requirements
Supports M&S Verification, Validation, and Accreditation activities (VV&A) across the enterprise including test planning, test execution, and accreditation ceremonies
Participates in event planning and execution including System Test Events (STEs), Data Analysis Working Groups (DAWGS), and Fleet Demonstrations to ensure Capability Insertion requirements are supported at sites and with the fleet
Contributes to the definition of Mission Analysis and Engineering requirements and ensures alignment to stakeholder priorities
Supports acquisition evaluation activities as required
Required Qualifications

At least Fifteen years of DoD Systems Engineering, Test Engineering, or US Navy Operational Experience with Surface Combat Systems
Active Top Secret Clearance with ability to gain SCI or active TS/SCI Eligibility – U.S. Citizenship is required.
At least Seven Years Surface Navy Combat Systems engineering experience with U.S. Surface Navy Combat Systems, Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense, or US Navy missile/weapon control systems
B.S. in a STEM Field or at least Six Years US Navy Operational Experience
Demonstrated understanding of U.S. Surface Navy Combat Systems, Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense, or US Navy missile systems
Demonstrated understanding of Systems Engineering processes and artifacts
Desired Qualifications

Experience supporting digital and hardware in the loop (HWIL) M&S use cases
M.S. in a STEM Field
US Navy Operational experience with Aegis BMD, as a Warfare Tactics Instructor (WTI), or as a Systems Test Officer (STO)
Expertise with Naval Surface Warfare or Missile Defense Agency programs and architectures
Extensive experience with Navy combat systems engineering activities
Active TS/SCI
Travel
