Automation Eng Sr Technician - 3rd Shift
Job Location: Lincoln, NE (US-NE-Lincoln).
Job Summary
Sign‑on bonus now $10,000.
We are currently looking for an experienced Automation Engineering, Sr. Technician – 3rd Shift to join our Lincoln, NE organization. This individual will develop, design, build and test robotic platforms from prototype through product commercialization. The role includes creating autonomous interfaces, mobility, communication and human‑robot interaction, working with cross‑functional teams to understand opportunities for robotic applications.
Manager Specific Requests:
Programs and troubleshoots PLCs and associated control systems.
Reads and understands equipment schematics.
Designs simple electronic control systems, specifies control equipment, builds and installs control systems.

Requires working knowledge and skills to perform a defined set of analytical scientific or operational processes.
Applies experience and skills to complete assigned work within own area of expertise.
Works within standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods.
Works with a moderate degree of supervision.
Performs manual tasks according to established procedures.
Essential Functions
Assists engineers with the development and implementation of automation systems or components.
Programs, installs, tests, and maintains robots or automated components.
Assists in the commissioning and deployment of new automation installations, conducts field trials to ensure appropriate operation, and prepares reports or records documenting actions or findings.
Investigates and troubleshoots defects or bugs, completes repairs and provides preventative maintenance.
Required Qualifications
Required education and experience:
Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 2-5 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred education and experience:
Associate's Degree.
Discipline/Major:
Technical Training Preferred.
Knowledge, skills & abilities:
Oral and written communication skills, ability to meet deadlines, detail oriented, problem‑solving skills, mathematical skills, computer skills, technical skills, leadership skills.
Physical Requirements
Requires regular movement throughout GD‑OTS facilities.
Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
May need to stand for long periods of time.
Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
May be requested to work a different shift.
Travel Requirements
No or very little travel likely.
