
Assistant Manager

The Assistant Manager is responsible for the receipt and coordination of goods coming through the warehouse, managing a team of warehouse workers, and assisting the General Manager in the day-to-day operations of the warehouse department.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities (Other Duties May Be Assigned)
Serves as back up to the General Manager.
Overall responsibility for the Warehouse Daily Operations.
Confirms all daily orders and organizes orders according to truck route. Partners with Delivery Drivers to resolve route and delivery and service concerns.
Provides leadership to all assigned warehouse shifts. Ensuring completion and proper execution of work procedures.
Serves as lead trainer for warehouse team.
Coaches and leads the Warehouse team to increase productivity and provide high-quality customer service.
Ensures quality standards and productivity standards are achieved, with safety being a priority.
Tracks productivity to meet company’s requirements and maximizes operational efficiency.
Assists with various transportation/warehouse duties related to DOT regulations, OSHA, fleet operations, and scheduling.
Maintains sufficient inventory levels to meet existing and potential demand for product.
Maintains a high level of customer service resulting in significant market penetration for door and operator products.
Makes personal sales calls to current and target accounts at place of business, job site or residence.
Assists with product and/or installation warranty issues including, but not limited to, visually inspecting, operating, testing products on site or in the field.
Develops a highly motivated and valued workforce by directing and facilitating training that creates a learning environment that fosters and leads to the most efficient work processes.
Assists General Manager with performance reviews for all team members.
Works to help grow the business by communicating with customers about their needs and exploring options that will allow us to serve those needs.
Assists with the onboarding and orientating of new hires.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Surveys and monitors warehouse to ensure work areas are free of any safety concerns and areas are clean and prepared for employees to begin shift.
Ensures safe practices for all employees on the shift. Reports any irregularities to General Manager or Executive VP.
Double-checks all orders for accuracy.
Demonstrates ‘safety first’ when performing all functions.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Other Requirements / Skills (Education, Software, Hardware, Etc.)
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
2+ years of direct management / office experience in an industrial environment preferred.
Skilled in handling Accounting/Transaction software SAGE100 & SAGE CRM strongly preferred.
Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with high level of confidence.
Creative thinker and should possess ability to resolve critical problems.
Should have ability to multitask and handle conflicts in the business.
Actively involved in the developmental plans of the company and devoted to work.
Should possess ability to work individually and as a team.
This is a full-time position, and it regularly requires long hours.
