Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Preventive Maintenance Mechanic in the Charleston, SC area. A preventive maintenance mechanic is responsible for performing routine inspections, servicing, and minor repairs on machinery and equipment to proactively prevent breakdowns, ensuring optimal operational efficiency by following a scheduled maintenance plan, which includes tasks like checking fluid levels, lubricating parts, replacing filters, and identifying potential issues before they become major problems; often documenting all maintenance activities and reporting any necessary repairs to the supervisor.
Responsibilities
Maintenance Scheduling: Follow a pre-established preventive maintenance schedule to ensure timely servicing of equipment.
Parts Replacement: Replace worn or damaged parts as needed, including filters, belts, seals, and other components.
Data Recording: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including dates, performed tasks, parts used, and equipment condition.
Troubleshooting: Identify and diagnose minor mechanical issues and perform basic repairs.
Reporting: Report any major problems or potential failures to the supervisor immediately.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols while performing maintenance tasks.
Qualifications
1-2 years’ experience as preventive maintenance mechanic
