Description
The Automated Equipment Operator is a key position in our Lockeford, CA plant. Every day you're maximizing the output of products and ensuring that the product line being manufactured is at top quality while operating safely.
What You'll Be Doing
Reporting to the Manager or Supervisor, the position operates a MBK Wire Cage Machine. The role monitors the machine as it manufactures the wire cage. After the cage is removed from the machine, the operator moves cages to an area where the EPak Pipe monitor will place them on the pallets.
Principal Accountabilities
Demonstrates willingness to take direction and follows instructions.
Adheres to schedule and maintains regular attendance at work-site. Works overtime as assigned.
Maintains a safe and clean work environment, returns all tools after use to proper storage location, and performs routine housekeeping (i.e.: cleaning, organizing). Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Identifies unsafe working conditions and notifies supervisor.
Determines sequence of operations by reading specifications and work orders.
Prepares machine for production by positioning and securing dies, stops, guides, and turntables.
Regulates machining by setting and adjusting controls.
Produces parts by locating and marking reference points on work piece; positioning or aligning work piece against stops and guides; operating equipment.
Maintains specifications by observing operations; detecting malfunctions; inspecting parts; adjusting controls.
Resolves production problems by altering process to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
Maintains raw material inventory by checking stock to determine amount available; anticipating needed stock; placing and expediting orders for stock; verifying receipt of stock.
Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Executes cleanup procedures at the conclusion of the shift.
Qualifications
We are looking for that candidate with an orientation toward personal growth and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated automated equipment operation experience preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Other Desired Qualifications include
Must have experience operating fully automated or semi-automated machinery in a fast-paced environment with some fabrication experience.
Experience working with a CMMS software.
Basic user level knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, ERP.
Familiar with PLC Control equipment and PLC Languages. Ability to learn computerized, electric-powered manufacture equipment, operate machine controls and monitor any system alarms and have the ability to diagnose and clear alarms.
Skilled at troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Strong communication skills and demonstrated teamwork skills.
General Electronics skills
Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
