Job Summary
Leonardo DRS is seeking multiple full time Manufacturing Technician positions for our Bridgeton, MO facility. This position will be responsible for performing electro‑mechanical and cable harness assembly, disassembly and rework, and testing and repair of various electronic products and mechanical assemblies. The role requires working from wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications and sketches of varying complexity.
Job Responsibilities
Perform electro‑mechanical assembly, disassembly and rework, testing, and repair of electronic, optical or mechanical assemblies.
Work from complex wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications and sketches, and running sheets of significant complexity.
Provide routine technical support to engineers and scientists on standard components, devices, material, products, processes and equipment.
Design and/or test prototype assemblies and production units.
Interpret and follow documents such as SOPs and safety rules.
Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements applicable to the company in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Interface with other departments to assure efficient flow of information and materials.
Perform key performance indicators: meet production deadlines, maintain quality of finished product (pass/fail rates), manage raw material stock levels, and achieve compliance outcomes.
Coordinate several activities at the same time and reprioritize in response to changing operational conditions.
Read, develop, and modify wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and engineering specifications for system or equipment modifications or expansion; direct personnel performing routine installation and maintenance duties.
Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Experience handling small delicate components, using ESD (Electro Static Discharge) practices.
Proficiency in safe handling of chemicals.
Good hand and eye coordination.
Strong decision‑making and leadership skills.
Physical capability to walk, sit, stand, stoop, climb, kneel, and bend for extended periods.
Ability to lift heavy materials.
Ability to access and work within restricted spaces in and around vehicles when necessary.
Soldering and wire bonding experience a plus.
Experience with MS Office and MRP a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $38,774.00/year–$48,468.00/year for the state of Illinois. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for annual performance‑based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay for non‑exempt employees.
