Production Planner

Overview
is responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring the flow of products throughout the production cycle. This role ensures production lines are effectively scheduled to meet customer delivery commitments while supporting internal financial and operational goals.

This position will be leveled based on experience, with opportunities to take on increased ownership and strategic planning responsibilities at the Master Planner level.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment supporting operations at a dedicated Frito-Lay facility.

This role requires daily on-site presence at the facility to support real-time production planning, inventory accuracy, and cross-functional collaboration.

Remote or hybrid work is not available for this position.

Pay Range:

$60,000 – $70,000 (based on experience)

Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, issue, and maintain production schedules to support a smooth and controlled production flow

Schedule production lines and confirm material availability to meet production requirements

Develop and maintain the master production schedule (MPS)

Prepare work orders and purchase requests based on production requirements

Track material requirements to ensure approved materials are available when needed

Review and monitor inventory status to maintain a minimum of 99% inventory accuracy

Take corrective action with internal teams to resolve scheduling or inventory issues

Participate in daily/weekly production meetings and communicate schedule changes in a timely manner

Collaborate closely with Production, Quality Assurance, Purchasing, and Shipping/Receiving teams

Support operational goals including production attainment, inventory accuracy, and on-time shipment performance

Identify risks to production or delivery schedules and coordinate solutions with internal stakeholders

Qualifications

General

Strong time management and multitasking abilities

Willingness to work additional hours as needed

Ability to work on-site full time (not eligible for remote work)

Authorized to work in the U.S. and at least 18 years of age

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree preferred (not required)

High school diploma or GED required; some college coursework preferred

1+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing operations

Experience developing or supporting production schedules in a manufacturing environment preferred

Hands-on experience with WMS and/or ERP systems (2+ years preferred)

Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage priorities, lead times, and scheduling constraints

Computer Skills

Proficient in Windows-based systems

Intermediate or higher proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word

Other Skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Results-driven and goal-oriented

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make timely decisions
