Job Title: Staff Psychiatrist Child & Adolescent Outpatient
Location: Napa, California

Position Overview A county-based behavioral health program is seeking a Staff Psychiatrist to provide outpatient psychiatric care to children and adolescents in a structured, team-based setting. Practice Details
  • Outpatient Child & Adolescent medication clinic
  • 40 hours per week
    • Option for 5 (8-hour) days or 4 (10-hour) days
  • Visit structure:
    • 90-minute initial evaluations
    • 45-minute follow-ups
  • No evening or weekend call
  • Child/adolescent caseload: patients
  • Participation in clinical and divisional team meetings
Clinical Environment
  • Multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, AOD clinicians, case managers, and community providers
  • Nursing support for medication setup (medi-sets) and monitoring high-risk patients
  • Access to specialized substance use programs
  • 24/7 crisis unit located adjacent to the clinic
  • On-site primary care clinic for integrated care
Job Responsibilities
  • Provide psychiatric evaluations and medication management for children and adolescents
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Diagnose and treat a range of psychiatric conditions, including co-occurring substance use disorders
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams to coordinate patient care
  • Participate in clinical meetings and treatment planning discussions
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Support continuity of care and family engagement in treatment
Working Hours
  • Full-time: 40 hours per week
  • Flexible schedule: 5x8s or 4x10s
  • Daytime outpatient hours
  • No evenings, weekends, or call
Qualifications
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
  • Fellowship training in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry preferred
  • Active California medical license (or ability to obtain)
  • DEA license required
  • Experience in outpatient or community mental health preferred
Skills
  • Strong child and adolescent psychiatric diagnostic and treatment skills
  • Ability to manage outpatient caseload effectively
  • Experience with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
  • Effective collaboration within a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication with patients, families, and care teams
