We are seeking a Board-Certified Psychiatrist for a locum tenens opportunity in an inpatient behavioral health setting. This role offers a structured weekday schedule with no call requirements, allowing for a balanced workload while delivering high-quality care to adult patients. The provider will manage a manageable daily caseload within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.
About the facilityThis is an acute care hospital with a dedicated inpatient psychiatric unit serving adult patients. The unit has approximately 45 beds with an average daily census in the low 30s. You will work alongside an experienced care team that includes registered nurses, mental health counselors, psychiatrists, occupational therapists, social workers, and unit coordinators. The facility utilizes Epic for electronic medical records.

Job Responsibilities- Provide inpatient psychiatric care to adult patients
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a range of mental health conditions including mood disorders, psychotic disorders, anxiety, and substance use disorders
- Manage an average of approximately 8 patients per day
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to develop and implement treatment plans
- Document patient encounters and treatment plans using Epic EMR
- Participate in treatment team meetings and care coordination
- Board Certification in Psychiatry (required)
- Active Massachusetts medical license (required)
- DEA certification (required)
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in psychiatry
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
- Monday through Friday
- 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
- No call, nights, or weekend responsibilities
- Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making abilities
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work efficiently in an inpatient setting
- Commitment to patient-centered care
- Proficiency with electronic medical records systems (Epic preferred)
