Duration: Full Time
- Work Dates Needed: Start: July 17 -21 (7a-7a) with more dates coming
- Ongoing 1-2 weekends/month
- Preferred Schedule: Coverage type: Call only
- ED ortho call: Ongoing; 9 call shifts per month, targeting 1 2 weekends per month
- Call type: Beeper; answer all calls within 15 minutes and be onsite within 30 minutes when needed
- Typical callback time: 0 to 2 4 hours per shift; 5 phone consults per 24 hours
- Worksite Setting: Hospital
- Department size: 150 beds; average 10 orthopaedic inpatients on service, 6 patients per shift listed
- Support: 2 local integrated ortho surgeons plus 1 nonintegrated ortho with privileges
- Hospital: Stroke certified; Trauma Level 3, PEDs Level 3
- Scope of Work:
- Role: ED orthopaedic call only bread and butter emergency ortho
- Musthave: Surgeon who can and will do total hips and knees, especially able to fix hip fractures coming through ED; total knees helpful but not a deal breaker
- Required skills (marked required):
- Arthroscopy
- Total joint replacement (hip, knee, other)
- Joint revision/repair (shoulder, hip, knee, other)
- Hand, tendon release/repair, peripheral nerve surgery
- Spine with and without instrumentation (cervical, thoracic, lumbar)
- Percutaneous disc surgery
- Privileges: Hospital/surgery center privileges and admissions required
- License: Oklahoma or IMLC
- Board Certified required by facility
- Required certs: ACLS and BLS
- EMR: Epic
