Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join a growing finance team under a newly appointed CFO. This is a highly visible role that reports directly to the CFO and plays a key part in supporting the organization's financial operations, grant management, and compliance functions.

Key Responsibilities
Manage day‑to‑day accounting functions including general ledger, reconciliations, and month‑end close.
Support grant management processes including tracking, reporting, and compliance with federal and private funding requirements.
Collaborate with the grant management team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Assist with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
Support the Controller and CFO on special projects as the finance team grows.
Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and federal agency requirements.

Required Qualifications
3‑5+ years of accounting experience within a nonprofit organization.
Demonstrated experience with grant accounting and grant management.
Familiarity with federal funding and federal agency compliance requirements.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to work in a flexible, fast‑paced environment.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications
CPA or progress toward certification a plus.
Experience with NetSuite and/or Raiser's Edge.
Prior experience in conservation, environmental, or philanthropy‑focused organizations.

Work Schedule
Hybrid – Wednesday is the anchor in‑office day; minimum 2 days/week onsite, with 8+ days/month preferred. Standard hours 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
