What You’ll Do
As a key member of the R&D project team, this individual will drive new product development from concept through industrialization while ensuring compliance with specifications and regulatory requirements. The Mechanical Engineer II will standardize materials and components, develop technical documentation that supports manufacturability and quality, and collaborate closely with Product Management, cross‑functional teams, and global engineering partners. In addition to supporting both new development and product sustainment efforts, this position contributes to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance process efficiency and product reliability. The role may also include supporting onboarding activities for new team members.
Product Development
Support the design and development of new products from concept to industrialization with engineering rigor.
Responsible for qualifying developed products to specifications, regulatory requirements, and performance criteria defined within internal Marketing Requirements and Customer defined requirements.
Drive material and component standardization to reduce complexity, improve manufacturability, and enhance downstream operational efficiency.
Collaborate with local and global engineering, operations, and product teams to ensure successful execution of platform roadmaps and custom solution development.
Create and release new product’s defining technical documentation, including product standards/guidelines, control prints, and engineering specifications.
Product Support
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost optimization, product consolidation, manufacturability improvements, and long‑term product reliability.
Partner with the Product Support team to proactively resolve design and process issues on new products, leveraging lessons learned from prior projects or sustainment requests.
Other
May maintain key Subject Matter Expert (SME) development role(s) that are vital to company success.
Support the department through Continuous Improvement by identifying system gaps within the front-to-back and back-to-front process responsibilities.
Onboarding new employees into the company’s systems, structures, and culture.
Perform other duties as assigned
What You'll Bring
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline
2–4 years of experience in product development or a related engineering field
Proficiency in CAD software for mechanical design and analysis
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality work
Proven ability to manage multiple projects across various development phases
Self‑motivated with strong problem‑solving and organizational skills
Experience designing and evaluating CNC‑machined components
Hands‑on experience with mechanical systems/assemblies, including design, testing, and validation
Bonus Points For:
Proficiency with SolidWorks for 3D modeling, design, and mechanical analysis
Experience selecting thermoplastics and designing components for plastic injection molding
Hands‑on experience in designing, testing, and validating electromechanical systems and assemblies
