Job Duties
Operate all equipment.
Stock ingredients from the delivery area to storage, work area, and walk‑in cooler.
Prepare product.
Receive and process telephone orders.
Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
Clean equipment and maintain cleanliness approximately daily.
Provide orientation and training on the job.
Communicate verbally and in writing with customers and co‑workers to process orders over the phone and in person.
Essential Functions/Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (calculator may be used).
Must be able to give correct monetary change.
Strong verbal, written, and telephone communication skills.
Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to make precise movements quickly.
Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
Work Conditions
Exposures include varying and sometimes adverse weather when removing trash and performing outside tasks. In-store temperatures range from 36°F in the cooler to 90°F or higher in some work areas. There is exposure to food odors, cornmeal dust, and fumes from cooking. Employees work in cramped quarters including a walk‑in cooler, and may handle hot surfaces/tools up to 500°F or higher. Tasks involve sharp edges, moving mechanical parts, and the requirement to be near a telephone, use near and mid‑range vision, and differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
Physical Demands
Standing:
Most tasks are performed from a standing position. Walking surfaces include ceramic tile “bricks” with linoleum in some food processing areas; height of work surfaces is between 36” and 48”.
Walking:
Walking is generally for short distances and durations.
Sitting:
Paperwork is completed at a desk or table.
Lifting:
Bulk product deliveries are made twice a week or more and are unloaded by hand truck; deliveries may include cases weighing up to 50 pounds. Cases are lifted from the floor and stocked onto shelves up to 72” high.
Carrying:
Large items, such as pizzas, may weigh 30 pounds and may be carried from storage to the front of the store; trays of pizza dough can weigh approximately 12 pounds.
Pushing:
Trays are moved on dollies; a stack of trays may require up to 7.5 pounds of force to push.
Climbing:
Employees may occasionally navigate stairs or climb a ladder.
Stoop/Bending:
Forward bending at the waist is needed at the pizza assembly station and front counter.
Crouching/Squatting:
Occasional tasks to stock shelves or clean low areas.
Reaching:
Continuous reaching up, down, and forward; reaching above 72” to operate ovens and change prices.
Hand Tasks:
Frequent use of hands needed to shape dough, operate pizza peel and rolling cutter, and assemble boxes.
Additional Information – Delivery
Job Duties:
Deliver product by car to customers, deliver flyers and door hangers.
Requirements:
Valid driver's license with a safe driving record, and access to an insured vehicle.
Essential Skills:
Navigational skills to read a map, locate addresses and navigate adverse terrain including multi‑story buildings and private homes while carrying product.
Physical Demands:
Carrying pizza, sides, and beverages while walking and climbing; driving to deliver pizzas; traveling between the store, vehicle, and customer locations; potentially navigating five or more flights of stairs.
Work Conditions:
Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather during delivery; necessity for far vision and night vision for driving.
