We are looking for an MA/Surgery Scheduler to schedule patients for surgery and related procedures.
Job Summary
MA/Surgery Scheduler schedules patients for surgery, tests, referrals, medical and cardiac clearance, pre‑op tests, and reviews meds and health history as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Scheduling patients for surgery and completing facility paperwork.
Scheduling patients for diagnostic tests such as bone scan, MRI, CT, EMG/NCS, ESI.
Reviewing patients' meds and health history to determine pre‑admission testing.
Scheduling appropriate medical and cardiac testing.
Coordinating with the facility all ancillary services related to the surgery at the discretion of the surgeon.
Scheduling patients for follow‑up appointments.
Obtaining authorizations as needed.
Education / Knowledge / Experience
Prefer one year of prior surgery scheduling experience in a health care facility setting.
Possession of Certified Medical Assistant certification is a plus.
Knowledge of operating a computer and computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office, EHR).
Knowledge of surgical procedures and medical terminology.
