Position:
Section Leader – Test Equipment Prototyping Test & Inspection Section
Security Clearance:
Must hold or be eligible for US Top Secret clearance. US citizenship required.
What You Will Do
Coordinate program staffing needs, ensuring that each direct report has suitable work assignments and opportunities for growth and career advancement.
Provide guidance, direction, and mentoring to team members.
Document and manage the processes, roles, and responsibilities of this team, jointly with development of larger organizational processes.
Collaborate with the Department Leader and other ERBS Section Leaders in executing Hardware Engineering goals.
Oversee training to foster growth of direct reports and maintain/improve skillsets within the section.
Foster teamwork and interdependent execution of tasking.
Participate in performance development processes including goal setting, performance reviews, and merit allocation.
Communicate directorate and business objectives downward.
Manage manpower needs, including interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.
Assist the lab lead(s) in enforcing lab policy and addressing compliance issues.
Provide oversight for shop operations and processes, including process improvements.
Provide technical guidance for troubleshooting of fabrication, test, and inspection related issues.
Identify alternate tooling in response to obsolescence or availability issues.
Support functional initiatives within the department, center, and directorate, as necessary.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
Experience in a technical leadership role.
Experience working in a functional leadership or program management role, including managing schedules and resources to meet assigned milestones.
Experience presenting to leadership and peers.
The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. US citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience with desktop computing tools (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Project).
Experience deploying resources effectively to satisfy demanding schedules.
Knowledge of industry specific tooling, including identification and proper use.
Experience with IPC Standards, e.g., J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620.
Familiarity with laboratory and test equipment.
