Join Our Team as a Locum - Physician - OB Hospitalist in Waverly, IA

Are you a dedicated OB Hospitalist seeking a rewarding locum opportunity to make a difference in patient care? In this position, you will engage in the MHAS model, including clinic work and call coverage, to ensure comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic services. The hospital manages approximately 200 deliveries annually, with expected patient encounters of 13+ per day. The typical case load includes OB triage, unassigned gynecologic emergencies, and deliveries, averaging 1-4 per hospitalist. You will operate in a Level 1 NICU environment, with GYN coverage provided by hospitalists. While Board Eligible candidates are accepted, board-certified physicians are preferred. The EMR system is to be determined.

Key skills for this role include strong clinical judgment, excellent communication abilities, the capacity to manage high-acuity obstetric cases efficiently, and adaptability to different clinical workflows. Candidates should have experience in obstetric triage, delivery management, and gynecologic emergencies.

Nice-to-have skills encompass experience with NICU care, familiarity with EMR systems, and additional certifications in obstetrics or gynecology.

Preferred candidates will hold an MD or DO degree with an active medical license in Iowa and previous obstetric hospitalist experience. A strong understanding of obstetric and gynecologic protocols, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment, will set you apart.

Additional requirements include participation in the MHAS model, adherence to state and federal healthcare regulations, and readiness to cover both clinic and call duties. The hourly pay rate for this locum position is $195.00, with weekly pay via direct deposit.
