Havenwyck Hospital is a Joint Commission-accredited and licensed psychiatric hospital in Auburn Hills, Michigan. We specialize in providing comprehensive, compassionate behavioral health services to children, adolescents and adults, building strength, confidence and knowledge within each patient.

Position Summary
The Admission Coordinator is responsible for answering the hospital switchboard phone, verifying insurances, obtaining signatures on admitting paperwork, and processing all admitting forms. The Coordinator interfaces with the Intake Department, patients, and nursing units.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Verification of all insurances online and by phone; documenting eligibility, co‑pays, deductibles, and pre‑existing terms and distributing this information as necessary.

Conduct the admission process with patients and/or families, explaining each admission form and procuring signatures. Process, copy, and distribute all forms to appropriate departments in a timely manner.

Enter and delete admission and discharge information into the computer system.

Compile and compute accurate information regarding admissions and discharges on the daily census sheet.

Greet the public upon arrival and direct them to the appropriate staff or department.

Answer the switchboard professionally, directing all phone calls to the appropriate department or staff and assisting callers with their inquiries.

Document in the patient’s record that they have been supplied with the Patient Rights Booklet and Advance Directive information.

Qualifications

High school diploma required.

Experience verifying insurance required.

1-3 years of experience working in admissions or a related department required.

Phone/switchboard and typing/computer skills required.

Professional, customer‑service focused individual with strong communication skills, ability to multi‑task and problem‑solve required.

Employee must be in good standing to be considered for internal transfer.
