Position Overview
This position is for a full‑time Maintenance Technician II with housing to work at Palm Court (62 units) and Gateway Santa Clara (42 units) in San Jose and Santa Clara, CA. Qualified candidates will live onsite. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and two years of general maintenance experience, including electrical, plumbing, and appliance repair. A valid driver’s license and clean DMV record are required; HVAC certification is preferred. Salary range: $19.62 - $31.62 per hour (hiring range $19.62 - $25.62 per hour, DOE). The Technician will maintain a property with 100+ units.
Responsibilities
All facets of lock and key replacement/repair, including weather stripping, door and window functioning, and locks.
Perform all interior repairs related to walls and doors.
Electrical repairs (fixtures, lights, plugs, switches).
Change AC filters, check coils, clean and repair when necessary.
Perform annual unit inspections.
Ensure turnover of units within five days.
Qualifications
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least 2 years of related apartment maintenance experience.
Knowledge and skills in plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance.
Clean DMV record and reliable transportation.
HVAC certification is preferred.
Criminal Background Check Requirements
EAH Housing conducts criminal background checks on all candidates who receive a conditional job offer. Successful completion and verification of education and employment history, including fingerprinting if required, are prerequisites for employment.
Drug Testing
EAH Housing requires a drug test for candidates who receive a conditional offer. Testing occurs within 72 hours of offer acceptance and does not include marijuana/cannabis. Successful completion is required for employment.
